French Prairie Middle School is a traditional 6th - 8th grade setting. Located at the junction of Boones Ferry Rd and Newberg Hwy 214. On the site of the first schoolhouse erected in 1891, the west side school was considered in its day one of the most outstanding educational structures in the Willamette Valley and compared well with Salem schools of the same date. French Prairie Middle School was named after a claim settled by Bradford Bonney, who in 1849 settled on this French Prairie area now known as Woodburn.
